FARMERS' PERCEPTIONS OF THE RICE FARMING SUSTAINABLE OF IN WAY KETIBUNG IRRIGATION AREA, SOUTH LAMPUNG REGENCY

Rice is a basic need for the Indonesian people whose demand is high enough to encourage an increase in rice production. The amount of water needed for rice plants will affect the process of plant growth and affect rice production and the sustainability of lowland rice farming. This study aims to analyze Farmers' Perceptions of the Sustainability of Lowland Rice Farming in the Way Ketibung Irrigation Area, South Lampung Regency. The number of samples used in this study were 100 lowland rice farmers. Data analysis in this study was answered using descriptive analysis based on scoring using a Likert scale in terms of 3 aspects, namely economic, social and environmental aspects where each indicator has been tested for its level of validity and reliability, which will then be calculated using the sustainability index. The results of the study show that the sustainability of paddy rice farming in the Way Ketibung irrigation area of South Lampung Regency when viewed from the economic and social aspects is already sustainable with a sustainability index of 75.87 percent and 79.70 percent. However, when viewed from the environmental aspect, it is classified as quite sustainable with a sustainability index value of 64.72 percent.Downloads
